The Children’s Museum
We went to the Children’s Museum to kill a few hours. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, and the neighborhood — the “museum district” — isn’t the kind of place you’d showcase to visitors. Inside, though, it’s wonderful. Things to crawl on and over, art to do, rides to ride. Hours to kill, most importantly. We’ll be getting a membership.

Aw, hope you are giving Richmond’s neighborhoods more of a chance than it sounds like you are here in this post. Just a couple of blocks over from CMOR is the Fan and Monument Ave…. some of the most unique and charming neighborhoods in Richmond. I’d def. showcase to visitors.

Sounds like I need to drive around some more! We get to the museum from I-195, then turn on Broad, so I haven’t gone much past it. Maybe next time I’ll take the long way and check out the area more. Thanks for telling me this!

Cool, I hope you do….
AND I’ll forgive you for living on the wrong side of the River.

The route you take into town is the reason so many people think Richmond is just a bunch of factories. When you take the more scenic route, it’s an entirely different story.
Also, that is the only part of the museum district that isn’t so easy on the eyes. The rest is wonderful, particularly near the Museum of Fine Arts.
